Neil,
Just wanted
to take a moment and express my satisfaction
and appreciation
regarding the Trice XL's for Carol and me.
Just as you
had predicted the trikes were delivered
to Mt. Airy Bicycles on
Monday, January 20. That Saturday, January
25 we picked up them up. Initial
impression on seeing them was "WOW!"
The trikes are quite an eye catcher,
especially when multiplied by 2. Larry commented
that he had had numerous
customers admiring them earlier in the week.
Because of
work and the weather (it's been unusually
cold and snowy here
this winter), mainly work, I didn't get
a chance to ride until this past
Sunday, February 2. It was a bit cold for
Carol so I just had to go by
myself. Only did a 6 mile out and back,
since I haven't ridden recumbent
for any distance previously. But that 6
miles was more than enough for me
to realize that we're going to have a great
cycling season, once the
weather warms a bit. The trike seems to
be set up pretty good as I didn't
experience any soreness.
Though the
weight loss is going slow, I'm convince
that I'll eventually get
down to my goal. In the meantime, I just
love the size and feel of the
XL-NT. Even at my current size, I don't
feel overly crowded/cramped. I've
devised a method of getting on the trike...squat
down and roll the trike
forward under me. No interference with the
handlebars or catching clothing
on the brake levers, I just slide on by.
When I get down to my goal weight,
I'll have more than ample room. Even now
sharp turns are not a problem, a
u-turn in the road in front of the house
right at the start...forgot
something and had to go back. I really am
pleased that I decided on the
NT's...already have realized the benefit
while transporting and going in
and out of the front door, rolls right on
through.
As time goes
on, I'll try to get you more photos of the
trikes with us in
action.
Again, my
hat (err...helmet) is off to you and the
ICE crew for a job well
done. I realize that this is your standard
mode of operation, but when it
becomes personal, it's just more apparent
and meaningful.
Thanks again
for everything.
