Dear
Neil,
I want to let you both know that I am absolutely
delighted with my XXL. The service that
you have provided to me before, during and
after the sale has been excellent. I've
been riding bikes for years and have dealt
with many manufacturers and bike shops.
Your professionalism exceeds anything that
I have experienced.
The XXL has gotten a pretty good workout
thus far. I've put in about 600 miles in
little over three weeks. There has been
the usual "dialing in", which
took a couple hundred miles to complete.
It took me awhile to get the boom length
just right, to work out the normal cable
stretching, and other minor adjustments.
I feel very comfortable on the trike now,
and have been especially surprised how stable
and comfortable the seat feels. I do a minimum
of readjusting my position while riding
and have mostly eliminated the "squirming"
that I've experienced on other carbon seats,
including the one on my Bacchetta Aero.
In fact, I haven't had the desire to ride
my other recumbent since the XXL arrived.
I'm sure that going forward I will split
my time between the Aero and the XXL, but
as of now I'm totally enamored with the
XXL. Although I do go somewhat slower on
the XXL, I have been very pleasantly surprised
at how well the XXL climbs. Living in Atlanta,
most every ride has lots of climbing that
ranges from hilly to mountainous. One of
my favorite rides is around Stone Mountain
Park. I do 5, 7 and 12 mile loops with about
80 feet of climbing per mile. The XXL handles
these climbs, some of which are in the 15
to 17% range, admirably. I can see how this
trike would be excellent on long rides where
comfort and the conservation of energy are
important. I am planning to do a weeklong
tour of the Natchez Trace in August, which
will involve 550 miles over five or six
days. I predict that the XXL will be ideal
for this type of riding.
Today I did a 50 mile cruise in the country
outside of Atlanta. It was an absolutely
beautiful day; I listened to classical music
on my MP3 player, and enjoyed gliding along
past the farmlands and pastures. The trike
attracted much attention from everybody,
including the horses and cows. I ride these
roads often and am a familiar sight to the
locals. I do notice, however, that the waves
from the pickup trucks are a bit more jovial
when I'm riding the trike.
I do not yet see many trikes in the U.S.
There are a lot of riders out there that
do not know what they're missing.
Cheers, Howard
