Subject: London to Brighton on an ICE QNT
Neil / Chris,
I felt I must drop you
a quick note in praise of the QNT. I gave
it my first real bashing last weekend by
way of the London-Brighton to raise money
for the BHF.
This was the first serious
cycle ride (in terms of distance) I have
done since I was a student 20 years ago.
Prior to it, I had done no cycling on a
two wheeler and only managed a mere 90miles
in total on the QNT in the weeks running
up to the event. Given the weather last
Sunday (it was 30C at the finish at 11:00am!)
I was pleased to finish the run in just
over 4hrs. I enjoyed immensely, especially
getting up Ditchling Beacon under pedal
power (albeit slowly) and blasting down
it at 48mph if the bike computer is accurate!
The QNT is truly great… it is easy
to manoeuvre, stops quickly in a straight
line, but above all, it is comfortable to
ride… no numb rear, aching wrists,
sore neck, back pain etc for me. Following
the ride I rushed back to Heathrow to catch
a flight to America where I am right now
on business… the morning after the
event I was tip top… no stiffness
or pains whatsoever!
You will be pleased to
know that the QNT attracted a lot of attention
and I shamelessly recommended it to those
who asked! I regret to say that it is now
immortalised on the BHF website… yours
truly is the guy with the glasses latching
onto the pedals! www.bhf.org.uk From a marketing
perspective I think you may have missed
a trick… from side on there is NO
logo!!!
As far as my QNT goes,
there is one thing I am going to have to
change… the twist grip shifters (they
just do not do it for me). I ride without
gloves and when my hand sweats it becomes
almost impossible to get the leverage to
change the front chain ring (using my naturally
weaker left hand). Bar-end shifters beckon…
expect an order next week when I get back
from the USA.
Incidentally, whilst over
the pond, I’ve purchased a Kurt Kinetics
Road Machine which is compatible with tadpoles;
the technical guy at KK commented that ICE
are “cool machines”… spot
on I say!
Gentlemen, enough of my
ramblings… great product… thank
you!
